SAN BERNARDINO, California – Nicholas Fisher has been named the Director of

Development at Children's Fund, a San Bernardino County nonprofit that provides support, opportunity, and hope to vulnerable youth. Fisher will lead the Development Department, which is responsible for fundraising and donor relations.

Since joining the organization in 2015, Fisher has taken on roles, initiatives, and campaigns of increasing impact to match the increasing needs of vulnerable children in the community. He has advanced the mission through developing new donor/youth engagement opportunities, expanding volunteer initiatives such as the Comfort Quilt Program, and increasing more personalized donor giving opportunities such as the Adopt-A-Family Program.

With a history of over 15 years of experience ranging from volunteer and project management to major donor engagement and strategic partnership building, Fisher will be integrating every facet of his experience into the new role.

"Being connected to community programs as a youth inspired me to continue to believe in myself to reach my goals. It is an absolute honor to take on a role that will ensure that thousands more children will grow up knowing that someone believes in them too," Fisher said.

Fisher credits his mother's spirit of selflessness and service for modeling his commitment to the community. From volunteer work with special needs youth programs, disaster relief volunteer coordination, senior citizen support committees, and a current member of the University of Redlands Town and Gown Board, Fisher actively embraces every opportunity to strengthen the community around him.

Fisher earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Arts in Management at the University of Redlands. In addition, he obtained certifications throughout his career, including a Community Leadership certificate at the University of Redlands and completion of The Fundraising Academy at the Academy for Grassroots Organizations.

Fisher began his new role at Children's Fund on January 3, 2022, after serving as the Interim Director of Development.

"Nicholas brings years of experience and dedication to securing resources to serve children experiencing poverty, abuse, and neglect," says Dr. Ciriaco "Cid" Pinedo, President and CEO of Children's Fund. "He is a valuable asset to our organization and the children we serve."

Children's Fund was founded 35 years ago by Jack Brown, then Chairman and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets, and Patrick Morris, former presiding Judge of the San Bernardino County Juvenile Court, and co-founded by businessman A. Gary Anderson, as a better way to deliver services to at-risk children. Since that time, Children's Fund has served more than 1.75 million children.
