Children's Fund Literacy Program
The Literacy Program provided by Children’s Fund, in partnership with National Community Renaissance, First 5 San Bernardino, First Book, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Child Care Resource Center, Inland Empire United Way, The Chance Project, San Bernardino County Preschool Services Department and San Bernardino County Library, provides new books to children in need addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy – access to books.
In San Bernardino County, 1 in 4 children under the age of 18 live in poverty. Parents are often unable to provide access to books in the home. By providing children with books they can take home and keep, the program targets the only variable that correlates significantly with reading scores—the number of books in the home.
How You Can Help

-
A donation of $25 would provide 10 children with a book they can call their own.

We are also in search of caring volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, and/or help with large book distributions.
